Weather Shield Shares High-End Product Lines at SEBC Show
7/23/2014
Southeast builders, remodelers and consumers will get a look at a selection of high-end products from
Weather Shield® Windows & Doors at the SEBC Show (booth 1007), July 24-25, 2014, in Orlando. The company will be exhibiting several of its latest product offerings, including the Contemporary Collection™, Weather Shield Premium Coastal™, and the Premium Series bi-fold and telescoping patio doors, as well as the wide array of features available on these distinctive products.
“Coastal homes are simply magnificent – the views, the architecture and the obvious attention to detail,” said Dave Koester, brand manager for Weather Shield. “Our windows and doors contribute to the beauty of these homes. And our Premium Coastal™ products also offer comfort, aesthetic appeal and degrees of protection from wind-borne debris that other impact-resistant windows and doors or cumbersome shutter systems can’t match.”
Weather Shield Premium Coastal
The Weather Shield Premium Coastal product line of aluminum-clad wood windows and patio doors are specifically designed for distinctive homes in coastal climates. The durable aluminum-clad exteriors come standard with paint that meets or exceeds strict AAMA 2605 specifications for increased performance and durability. And, they are available in a nearly endless color palette: 12 standard colors, 45 designer colors and 8 anodized aluminum exteriors. Interiors can be specified in one of 7 species and 6 choices in finishes. Resistant to corrosion caused by salt spray, special seacoast hardware is an available as an option on Premium Coastal products.
Homeowners have several choices in glazing for their Premium Coastal windows and doors, ranging from single-glazed impact that offers the traditional protection that predominantly meets the stringent Miami-Dade County testing requirements, to Zo-e-shield™ Coastal, which combines insulated impact resistant glazing with the energy efficiency of Zo-e-shield. All of Weather Shield’s impact glazing options feature a resilient PVB interlayer fused between two panes of glass, which helps prevent flying debris from entering the home. By keeping the home sealed, this interlayer also helps protect the home against interior and exterior pressure imbalance that often results in a wind-tunnel effect and significant damage to a home and its contents.
The Contemporary Collection
Weather Shield’s newest product line, the Contemporary Collection, preserves outside views with its narrow-profile frames and sash that lend a sleek appearance and more exposed glass. It is available in a vanishing corner window, crank and push-out casement, awning and direct set windows, and a narrow-stile hinged patio door. The corner window, which has the two panes that meet in the corner with only a very narrow strip of wood between, has a strong aluminum internal support structure on the exterior to the unit. The Contemporary Collection options build on those available in the Premium Collection, such as an unlimited exterior clad color palette and several choices of interior wood species, which come natural, primed, painted or prefinished. The multiple exterior anodized color options provide a stunning radiant metallic finish whereas the Black Poly interior finish delivers a smooth and satiny look.
Premium Series Patio Doors: Bi-fold and Telescoping Styles
Weather Shield will be exhibiting two of its Premium Series monumental patio door styles at SEBC: the bi-fold and telescoping patio doors. Both can be customized with the many interior and exterior color, hardware and glazing options available in the Premium Series.
The Weather Shield Premium Series Bi-fold Patio Door is a beautiful choice for both modest to expansive openings. The 2-1/4" thick accordion-style door is available in configurations from two to eight panels and can accommodate openings as wide as 23’. Elegant and versatile, the bi-fold patio door can be used in a commercial building, such as a restaurant wanting to connect an indoor dining area to an outdoor patio, or in a private home, to easily extend the living space into the backyard.
Able to accommodate openings up to 23’ wide and 10’ tall, Weather Shield Premium Series Telescoping Sliding Patio Doors merge the architectural elegance of traditional French door panels with unparalleled form and function. An interlocking panel design connects each door section, allowing them to open and close by pulling on the lead panel. Because of the door’s no-astragal design, one panel slides open on top of the next without interference.
