Weather Shield Enters New Market Segment with Launch of Signature Series Aluminum-Clad Wood Product Line

3/20/2013
Weather Shield Windows & Doors has entered a new market segment with the launch of its Signature Series™ aluminum-clad wood windows and patio doors. A mid-priced product line, the complete Signature Series is now available, including casement, awning, picture, double hung, sliding, direct-set and specialty-shaped windows; and hinged and sliding patio doors.

“The Signature Series is the next generation of windows and doors from Weather Shield, taking us into a market we’ve not addressed previously,” said Dave Koester, Weather Shield brand manager. “It offers affordable luxury for homeowners who prefer aluminum-clad windows and doors and may be more price sensitive than buyers who seek the higher-end options found on the premium Weather Shield product line. It’s a nice compromise of value and options.”

The Signature Series is the second of three new product lines to be introduced by Weather Shield as part of its “ ReInvented ” campaign. In mid-2012, the company announced its new Aspire Series of vinyl-clad wood windows . Soon, Weather Shield will share details of its new premium aluminum-clad wood product line. Combined with new technology and renewed momentum, these product lines position Weather Shield strongly with architects/designers, and custom, spec and volume builders.

Incorporating the Latest Technology
The Signature Series will feature the latest innovations in foundational technology from Weather Shield: TriCore™ Frame technology and the Symmetry Balance System™.

Weather Shield’s new TriCore frame technology on the Signature Series’ casements, awnings and select picture windows delivers improved structural performance, minimizes water infiltration and reduces weathering. The technology combines highly moisture-resistant materials, a fusion-welded sub frame, and thick, multi-chamber sub frame components to achieve new levels of the energy efficiency and thermal performance.

The Signature Series double hungs are among only a few in the industry to achieve a Class 3 AAMA rating, due largely to Weather Shield’s exclusive Symmetry Balance System, which ensures superior air and water performance and virtually effortless operation.

Vast Options for Mid-Level Product Line
The Signature Series offers many appealing standard offerings as well as several upgrade options for a more tailored window and door package. Interiors are available in standard pine or optional character alder. Both can be factory-finished in four stain finishes: Clear Satin, Fruitwood, Chestnut, Golden Oak; painted with white latex; or primed for finishing at the jobsite. To complement these finishes, hardware is available in white, tan, brushed nickel and rustic bronze.

The durable aluminum-clad exteriors are offered in seven popular colors: White, Cameo, Tan, Desert Tan, Hartford Green, Craftsman Bronze and Brick Red. Matching exterior trim can be ordered in several profiles including: 1” Aluminum Brickmould, 3-1/2” Aluminum Flat Casing, Aluminum K Style Casing, SnapFit Casing, SnapFit Bead Casing, SnapFit (3 back Bands) and SnapFit (3 Sill Noses).

For added charm, homeowners can add grilles to the Signature Series. Available options are: Removable Wood Grilles, 5/8” flat and 11/16” sculptured Grilles in the Airspace, and 7/8” and 1-3/8” Simulated Divided Lites.

The Signature Series is available with many energy-efficient glazing choices, such as Zo-e-shield™ 5, Zo-e-shield 5 Extreme, Zo-e-shield 6, Zo-e-shield 7, Zo-e-shield Safeguard, Zo-e-shield Safeguard Certified, or Insul Low E2 with argon-gas-filled airspaces.
